Volunteer Gift Shop

Gift Shop hours are staffed on Monday-Friday  9 a.m.-12 p.m.; 12-3 p.m.; 3-5 p.m.

This is the Auxillary's main source of income, which also includes a percentage of all the Vending Machines in the building. The Chairperson oversees the staffing of the store during the week and helps with some of the standard inventory.  There are two buyers whose job it is to select and purchase the gift and miscellaneous items.

As a volunteer in the Gift Shop you are expected to know your merchandise and prices, although they are marked. You will need to learn how to operate the cash register, eventually how to open and close the shop, and how to close out the cash drawer.  We need two volunteers per shift. Be ready to make suggestions for gifts a new parent or grandparent might like in several price ranges. There are some lay away items that will need to be taken care of.  Keep a list of items requested that we might want to add to the shop. Most of all, know your shop and merchandise and encourage your shoppers!
