Emergency Department

Lea Regional Medical Center's Emergency Department is equipped and staffed to respond to all emergencies on a 24-hour basis.  A licensed physician is on-duty at all times along with nursing and ancillary staff who have specialized training in cardiac, medical, pediatric and trauma emergencies.

The Lea Regional Emergency Room was renovated and expanded in 2005. For more information about this $5.5 million project, click here.

In 2008, the administration created an advisory committee to address the needs of the community and the opportunities for improvement that could be made in the Emergency Department.  In the last quarter of 2008, the improved quality, perception and feedback were beginning to show as a result of the committee's ideas and efforts of the ED staff.  It is the goal of Lea Regional Medical Center to continue to put the improvement of the Emergency Department at the forefront of the efforts for 2009, continuing on the success that has already been demonstrated.
