Get Fit Challenge

Body Destination - Get Fit Challenge

Presented by Lea Regional Medical Center & Healthy Woman

  • This program will be open to men, women, and children and will be promoted community and county-wide.

  • The Challenge will last 6 weeks.

  • Tentative schedule of events:
-Round 1 kickoff rally will be Tuesday, March 30 at 6 p.m. It will be on the north side of Lea Regional Medical Center near the Gazebo. There will be information on what the Challenge is about, entertainment, and a motivational speaker. This is the time to register.

         - The weigh-in will be Thursday, April 1. The 6-week program begins here. Individuals will be identified on a registration sheet from the rally; they will then weigh in at Lea Regional Medical Center. Participants will enter through Outpatient Services on the east side of the hospital.

        - We will have alternating talks each week, courtesy of Lea Regional's Dietary Department and area fitness experts, giving tips on healthy cooking and eating habits, as well as providing free fitness classes.

        - The final weigh-in will take place Thursday, May 13 at the same location the initial weigh-in was held 6 weeks prior.

        - The After Party will be Thursday, May 20 near the Gazebo at Lea Regional Medical Center at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served and the winners will be announced.

  • Cost to participate: $5 per person.

  • We are registering people on an individual basis, but we encourage people to create teams on your own - as many as you can get excited about the 6 weeks!

  • Prizes will be given to the top individual weight loss winners (pounds & percentage of weight for both men & women).

  • There will also be a fitness challenge. This is designed for those who might not necessarily need to lose weight, but want to get in or remain in shape. The youth (18 & under), must take part in this phase of the Challenge. Each participant will use a point system to keep track of each day's physical activity. An award will be given to the participant with the most logged activity.

  • Calendars of events and reminders will be sent out, via email and regular mail for the various activities to help keep participants on track with the available resources.

If you would like to pre-register, please call 492-5102.
