Description:
A clinically competent, Licensed Practical Nurse who delivers care to the patient through the nursing process of assessment with training, planning, intervention and evaluation.
Graduate Practical Nurses are employed under temporary licensure issued by the State of New Mexico and work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Requirements:
Must hold a current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Mexico.
Graduate Practical Nurses must obtain a license as an LPN in the State of New Mexico before expiration of the Temporary Licensure.
Knowledge of accepted nursing standards and practice.
Knowledge of basic pharmacology.
